Resetting Oil Service
Indicator Lights
Cadillac
Cadillac 2003-06
CTS, 2004-06 SRX with base audio system, 2005-06 STS
Press the up and
down arrow on INFO button on right side of driver information center
display to access the DIC menu. Once 100% Engine Oil Life menu is
highlighted, press and hold the CLR button. The percentage will
return to 100 and oil life indicator will be reset. Repeat steps if
not reset to 100.
Cadillac 2003-06
CTS, 2004-06 SRX with Navigation System
Turn the system on by pressing
the PWR/VOL knob once located at lower left of DIC display. Pres INFO
button located to the left display to access the vehicle information
menu. Turn the TUNE/SEL knob located at the lower right of the
display until engine oil life is highlighted. Press the knob once to
select it. Once the 100% engine oil life is displayed, press the
multi- function button next to the reset prompt in the upper right
corner of the display, the percentage will return to 100 and the oil
life indicator will be reset. Repeat steps if not reset to 100.
Cadillac DTS 2006
To reset the CHANGE
OIL SOON message turn the key to the ON position without starting
the engine. Press the INFO button on the Driver Information Center (DIC)
until OIL LIFE REMAINING is displayed. Press and hold the INFO RESET
button until 100% is displayed. This resets the oil life indicator.
Turn the key to OFF.
Cadillac DeVille
1999, Eldorado 1999-02
To reset service
OIL Life Indicator, display the OIL LIFE LEFT message by pressing
the INFORMATION SKIP (SKIP INFO) button. Press and hold the RESET NO
(NO INFO RESET) button until 100% OIL LIFE is displayed.
Cadillac XLR
2004-06, DeVille, Seville 2000-05
Turn the ignition
to ON. Press the INFO button on the Driver Information Center (DIC)
button to display ENGINE OIL LIFE. Press and hold the INFO RESET
button on the DIG until the display reads 100% ENGINE OIL LIFE. The
engine oil life index is now reset. Turn the ignition OFF.
Cadillac Eldorado,
DeVille, 1997-98 Seville 1997-98
Display ENGINE OIL
LIFE by pressing the INFO button. Press and hold the INFO RESET
button until the message shows 100.
Cadillac, All
Models ex. Fleetwood, 1994-97
Press INFORMATION
button until OIL LIFE LEFT is
displayed. Press RESET button until
100 or 0.0 OIL LIFE LEFT is
displayed.
Cadillac,
Escalade, Escalade ESV, Escalade EXT 2002-06, Fleetwood, 1994-96
To reset “CHANGE
OIL” light, turn the ignition switch to RUN position without
starting the engine. Fully depress and release accelerator pedal
three times within 5 seconds.
Cadillac Eldorado,
Seville, 1994-95; All
Models, 1993
Automatic
transaxle, change fluid message. If
“CHANGE TRANSAXLE FLUID” appears on
Information Center, press and
hold the OFF and REAR DEFROST
buttons until TRANS FLUID RESET
appears.
Cadillac DeVille,
Fleetwood, 1991 -93
When “CHANGE OIL
SOON” light is illuminated, press and hold Range (A) and Reset (B)
buttons on Fuel Data center 5 to 60 seconds. When buttons are
released, the light will flash four times if it has been reset. If
the light comes back on for more than 5 seconds, repeat procedure.
Cadillac Allanté,
1989-93
When “CHANGE OIL SOON” appears on the Driver Information
Center, press RANGE (A) button until “OIL LIFE INDEX” shows on
display. Then press and hold AVG SPEED (B) and RESET (C) (or RANGE,
late models) buttons until display shows “100”.
Cadillac Eldorado,
Seville, 1992-93
Press INFORMATION
button on Driver Information
Center until “OIL LIFE INDEX” is
displayed. Press STORE/RECALL until
“OIL LIFE INDEX” resets to
100.
Cadillac Eldorado,
Seville, 1989-91
When “CHANGE OIL
SOON” or “CHANGE ENGINE OIL” appears on the Driver Information
Center, press ENG-DATA button until “OIL LIFE INDEX” appears. Then
press ENG DATA (A) and RANGE (B) buttons at the same time until
“100” displays (for about 5 seconds).
