Ford Windstar, 1999-04 Ford Freestar, 2004-06

To reset CHANGE OIL SOON/OIL CHANGE REQUIRED message on the Message Center, press the SETUP control to access the System Check mode. Press and release the RESET button to display

“OIL LIFE % HOLD RESET NEW” is

displayed. Press and hold the RESET button for 2 seconds until “IF NEW OIL HOLD RESET” is displayed. Press and hold RESET button until “OIL LIFE SET TO 100%” is displayed.

Ford Windstar, 1997-98

To reset CHANGE OIL SOON/OIL CHANGE REQUIRED message on Message Center, press RESET and SETUP controls at the same time. OIL LIFE % HOLD RESET NEW will be displayed. Press the SETUP control to access the System Check mode. Press RESET to start the system check. Press and hold the RESET control. Press RESET and SETUP to reset the system to 100%.

Ford Explorer, Mercury Mountaineer, 2002-06

To reset CHANGE OIL SOON/OIL CHANGE REQUIRED message on the Message Center, press the SET UP control to access the System Check mode. Press and release the RESET button to display “OIL LIFE % HOLD RESET NEW” is displayed. Press and hold the RESET button for 2 seconds until “IF NEW OIL HOLD RESET” is displayed. Press and hold RESET button until “OIL LIFE SET TO 100%” is displayed.

Ford Five Hundred, Freestyle, Mercury Montego 2005-06 Tap the ODO/TRIP button to toggle the display between the odometer and trip odometer. Tap on the ODOiTRIP button again to toggle the display between the trip odometer and OIL LIFE % display. Press and hold the ODO/IRIP button for 2 seconds or more to display OIL LIFE 100%. Your oil life in now reset.

Ford Explorer, Mercury Mountaineer,1 997-01

To reset the oil life feature on the Message Center, press and hold the OIL CHANGE RESET button until the system counts down (about 5 seconds). The Message Center will display OIL LIFE RESET TO 100%.

Ford Probe, 1989-92 Analog Dash w/Vehicle Maintenance Monitor

When “SERVICE” is illuminated on Vehicle Maintenance Monitor on overhead console, press the SERVICE INTERVAL RESET (A) button located directly above the light.

Ford Probe, 1989-92 Digital Dash

When “SERVICE INTERVAL CHECK” is displayed on far left side of instrument panel, press the SERV OFF (A) button located on the speed alarm keyboard, until three tones sound.

Ford Thunderbird, Mercury Cougar, 1987-88 w/System Scanner

When “SERVICE” appears on Diagnostic System Scanner, press the ODO SEL (A) and TRIP RESET (B) buttons simultaneously. The “SERVICE” message will go out and three short beeps will be heard when system is reset.

Ford Thunderbird, Mercury Cougar, 1989-94 w/Vehicle Maintenance Monitor

If “CHANGE OIL SOON” or “NOW” is indicated on Monitor, turn ignition on but do not start engine. Within 16 seconds, insert a paper clip into cavity to the left of the display and depress. The display will flash; when it stops, it is reset.
