Pontiac Aztek,
Montana 2003-05 w/o (DIC) Driver Information Center; Torrent,

Turn the ignition to ON, with the engine off. Fully
depress and release the accelerator pedal slowly three times within
five seconds. Turn the key to OFF If the CHANGE ENGINE OIL’ message
comes back on when you start your vehicle, the engine oil life
system has not reset. Repeat the procedure.

Turn the ignition
to ON, with the engine off. Press the MODE button until the DIC
reads ‘OIL LIFE LEFT/HOLD SET TO RESET Press and hold the SET button
until 100% is displayed. You will hear three chimes and the “CHANGE
ENGINE OIL” message will go off. Turn the key to OFF. If the “CHANGE
ENGINE OIL” message comes back on when you start your vehicle, the
engine oil life system has not reset. Repeat the procedure.
Pontiac
Bonneville, 2000-05
Display OIL LIFE
on the DIC. Turn the ignition OFF. Press and hold the RESET button
for more than five seconds. The oil life will change to 100%.
Pontiac Montana,
2005
With the ignition
key in RUN but engine off, repeatedly push the trip reset button
until OIL is displayed on the driver info center. Once OIL is
displayed, push and hold the reset button for five seconds. The
number will disappear and be replaced by 100% of oil life remaining.
The percentage will return to 100 and oil life indicator will be
reset. Repeat steps if not reset to 100.
Pontiac Firebird,
1998-02
To reset the OIL
CHANGE light, press and hold the TRIP/OIL RESET button on the
instrument panel for 12 seconds. When the light flashes and goes
out, the system is reset.
Pontiac Grand Am
2004-05
Turn the ignition
to ON, with the engine off. Fully depress and release the
accelerator pedal slowly three times within five seconds. The reset
is complete when you hear the chimes and the “CHANGE OIL” light goes
out. If the light stays on and no chime is heard, you will need to
repeat the reset procedure. Turn the key to OFF. If the “CHANGE
ENGINE OIL” message comes back on when you start your vehicle, the
engine oil life system has not reset. Repeat the procedure.
Pontiac Grand Am,
1999-03
To reset the
Change Oil light, open the driver’s side instrument fuse panel cover
and turn ignition on engine OFF. Press the RESET button and release.
The change oil indicator light will flash. Press the button again
and the system will be reset.
Pontiac G6, 2005
Turn the ignition
to ON without starting the engine. Fully press and release the
accelerator pedal three times within five seconds. If the CHG OIL
SOON lights two times, the system is resetting. Turn the key to OFF,
then start the vehicle. If the CHG OIL SOON light comes back on, the
system has not reset, repeat the procedure.
Pontiac Grand Prix
2004-06
To reset engine
oil life monitor. Press the options button on the DIG until ENGINE
OIL MONITOR appears on the DIG screen. Press the set/reset button to
reset the system. The next screen indicates that the engine oil
monitor system has been reset. If the vehicle is equipped with the
trip computer DIG, when the gage button is pressed and the OIL LIFE
REMAINING mode appears, it should read 100 percent OIL LIFE
REMAINING. Turn the key to OFF. If the CHANGE OIL SOON message comes
back on when you start your vehicle, the oil life system has not
reset. Repeat the procedure.
Pontiac GTO
2004-06
To reset service engine oil message. With the engine off,
turn the ignition key to ON. Fully press and release the accelerator
pedal slowly two times within five seconds. Turn the key to LOCK. If
the Service Engine Oil message comes back on when you start your
vehicle, the engine oil life system has not reset. Repeat the
procedure.
Pontiac Grand
Prix, 1999-03
Driver Information
Center If Equipped). Turn the ignition to ON without starting the
engine. Fully press and release the accelerator pedal three times
within five seconds. If the CHANGE OIL Soon indicator flashes two
times, the system is resetting. Turn the ignition key to OFF, then
start the vehicle.

If the CHANGE OIL
SOON indicator comes on and stays on, repeat the procedure. To reset
the OIL LIFE indictor if equipped with a Trip Computer: Press the
trip MODE button until the light appears next to OIL LIFE. Press and
hold the trip RESET button until the oil life percentage changes to
be 99 percent.

Prix, 1997-98
To reset oil life
indicator, press the MODE button until
the light next to OIL LIFE is lit.
Press and hold RESET for 3
seconds until oil life percentage is
100%.
Pontiac Grand
Prix, 1988-93 w/Trip Computer
To reset “CHANGE OIL”, “CHANGE OIL
FILTER”, or the mileage of either on the Trip Computer, continually
press the SERVICE or SYSTEMS CHECK (A) button until the item appears
with the mileage below it. Then press the RESET (B) button. Mileage
will be reset to the maximum value. If you want to reduce this
value, hold the RESET (B) button down and the mileage will count
down. Release the button at the mileage you want the customer to
observe for the next service. “CHANGE OIL” and “CHANGE OIL FILTER”
are reset separately.

Bonneville, 6000, 1983-91 w/Driver Information Center
To reset “CHANGE
OIL” or “OIL FILTER,” or to adjust mileage on Driver Information
Center, continually press the DIC (A) button (Bonneville) until
either message appears with the mileage below it. At this point,
hold the button down. In 5 to 10 seconds, the mileage will count
down.
Pontiac
Bonneville, 6000, 1987-91 w/Driver Information Center continued
When it passes 0,
it will cycle back to a maximum figure. Release the button when the
mileage gets to the interval you want the customer to observe for
the next service. If “CHANGE OIL” or
“OIL FILTER” already appears,
just hold the button down to reset mileage. “CHANGE OIL” and “OIL
FILTER” are reset separately.
